Recommended Summer Preparation

AP/IB Courses

Important Information about Recommended Summer Preparation:

Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate courses are challenging and exciting classes that give you the opportunity to experience college-level material while still in the familiar and supportive setting of your high school environment. These classes will motivate you to learn new ideas and to build your critical thinking and analysis skills. We want to support you so that you can be successful. Some of our teachers have provided recommended summer preparation for the AP and IB courses that you are taking in the 2017-2018 school year. We want you to get a smooth start in these courses and to feel prepared as you enter. We also want to encourage you to read and to engage with issues and questions that you will experience in your courses this year. Completing recommended summer preparation reduces pressure and stress in the first weeks of your AP and IB courses and will give you a head-start to help you feel more comfortable in these advanced courses.

You can email the Department Chair or Administration with questions that you may have about the Recommended Summer Preparation.

Some instructors have also provided course overviews or descriptions so that you can get a feel for what the courses will cover over the school year. We hope you find these resources helpful.

You can find more information about AP courses, including rewards and benefits, here.
